Why Friendship Breakups Are Harder Than Relationship Breakups — Singer Mayorkun<div><br></div><div>Singer Mayorkun has shared his thoughts on why friendship breakups can be more difficult to deal with than romantic relationship breakups.</div><div><br></div><div>Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, Mayorkun said people invest more into friendships because genuine friendship requires actually liking and connecting with someone.</div><div><br></div><div>“Friendship breakup are harder than relationships breakup because you invest more into friendship.”</div><div><br></div><div>He explained that while romantic relationships have a sexual element, friendship is largely about companionship and genuinely enjoying the person’s presence.</div><div><br></div><div>“You are not really getting anything from friendship. Apart from like maybe companion and all. But in a relationship there is still small sexual something inside. In friendship you have to actually like that person before that person becomes your friend.”</div><div><br></div><div>Mayorkun added that recovering from the end of a friendship can make it difficult to build another close bond with someone.</div><div><br></div><div>“So if the thing ends don’t worry you will get a new girlfriend before you get a new friend.”</div><div><br></div><div>He further said: “Friendship breakup makes it hard to now want to go into another friendship relationship with someone except you are the type that calls everyone your friend.”</div>
