Falz Leads Democracy Day Protest Over Nigeria's Economic Hardship

Nigerian artist and activist Falz (Folarin Falana), alongside a powerful coalition of civil society groups, led a nationwide protest yesterday on Democracy Day.

Demonstrators took to the streets to voice intense frustration over Nigeria's worsening economic hardship, escalating inflation, and widespread insecurity. Falz and fellow organizers strongly criticized recent federal economic policies—such as fuel subsidy removal and currency devaluation—arguing they have pushed millions into severe poverty.

The peaceful rally demanded immediate government intervention to curb rising food prices, secure vulnerable communities from banditry, and deliver meaningful relief to struggling citizens nationwide.
