The victims were identified as 22-year-old Oludere Opeyemi and 19-year-old Adegbola Blessing.

They were said to have lost their lives at a hotel in Akungba-Akoko during a party organised for the freshers.

The police spokesperson said the situation worsened in the early hours of January 30, 2026, when Blessing, who was earlier revived, was reported dead.

He added that the case has been transferred to the command’s monitoring unit for a discreet and comprehensive investigation.
