There are some basic truth you should know in life.

  • Your time is finite, but your attention is even more limited. Most lives are not ruined by lack of years, but by distraction and drift.
  • You won’t get everything you want, but many people also never clearly define what they actually want. They chase status signals borrowed from others.
  • Being “in the middle” means comparison is unstable. If your self-worth depends on being above others, you’ll never rest because there is always someone ahead.
  • Tradeoffs are unavoidable. Every choice closes other doors. Saying yes to one path means silently saying no to many others.
  • Talent matters, but consistency compounds harder than bursts of motivation.
  • Feelings are real, but not always accurate. A person can feel like a failure while objectively progressing.
  • Most people overestimate what can happen in a week and underestimate what can happen in 5 years.
  • The world does not automatically reward effort. It rewards useful results, timing, leverage, relationships, and sometimes luck.
  • Avoiding short-term discomfort usually creates long-term problems.
  • Identity is flexible. A lot of people trap themselves with statements like “I’m just not that kind of person.”
